If you have been using Quickbooks Time for more than a few years, like many of our clients have been using it for eons since the days it was called Tsheets, you know that this is an amazing product. It is extremely value for money for what it does and gives you and your team a beautiful mobile app, live GPS tracking and a lot more. The Quickbooks Time mobile app has come a long way since its early days as Tsheets but one area which has remained the same for at least the last 5 to 6 years that we have been developing on QuickBooks time is its reporting.
This is what reporting currently looks like in QuickBooks Time, which is actually quite functional if everything that you need to do can be done within Quickbooks Time alone.
This report, while it is good and functional, cannot be saved, is not permanent and will require you to set up the filters separately every week. If you have used the reporting in QuickBooks Time and wanted more, this is your lucky day. We can now extract all of the beautiful data sitting inside QuickBooks Time and allow you to build your reports in any tool of your choosing. Imagine the same data from QuickBooks time but now available in Power BI or Excel or any reporting tool of your choice.
You can now make reports that look like this and, more importantly, create reports that automatically update without you having to go in and create them again.
Once you have the integration set up in SyncEzy, here’s how you can take that information and pull all of your data automatically using a gateway. This way you can have the gateway autorefresh your QBtime data from SyncEzy and all of your reports and dashboards will always show the current data.
- Expand the Gateway Connection section right above Data Source Credentials.
- Install the gateway software and let it run on your PC. It will be called an on-premises data gateway (personal mode).
- Once you install this, refresh the page where you tried to enter the data source credentials. You will see an entry under Gateway Connection and under status, it should show “Running on
”. - Now go to Data Source Credentials and repeat the same steps by entering your credentials.
- It should now load successfully.
